But it never manages to connect with facebook.

@mdreira have you already tried turning off browser plugins and/ or tring in a private/ incognito tab?

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

Nothing related to CSP headers either mmh?

Check the logs and post the output while runnig the request.

@mdreira Did you setup the Facebook developer app for your domain? You gotta do that first.

                  Hi!

                  I've already done it.

I have created an app on Facebook and I have put the 3 environment variables in the "env" folder (I don't know if I have to put the access token as well).

After restarting the chatwoot app in cloudron, I try again to create the inbox with FB Messenger.

                  This is what happens: https://share.getcloudapp.com/bLu5192B

A connection window opens and stays there. I don't know what I did wrong, it's a bit hard to get this up and running.

I don't see any errors in the application logs.

The Facebook app may need to be approved by them. I'm not sure if it's active.

@mdreira Access token is probably required, I don't use the app so I'm not 100% sure, but there are 3 variables to change (which by your posted you changed.)

Can you disable ad-blocker and try?

@murgero I use the Brave browser and have adblockers disabled for all our domains.

Just in case, I've also put this inside the "env" folder:
                      FB_ACCESS_TOKEN={token here}

                      But it's not working either.

Does the Fb app have to be accepted by them?

@mdreira said in Chatwoot - authenticating with facebook:

                        Probably.

I tried to get access to Twitter API to test it with Chatwoot and they wouldn't give it to me which was very frustrating. Wouldn't tell me why, either (but I think I may try again quote EU law that requires them to be clear - something I learned from the guy who makes the awesome FairEmail and his woes with Google Play Store)

@murgero Are you referring to the app basic configuration where it asks for the domain of the app? If so, then yes.

Has anyone successfully set up fb messenger on chatwoot?

On the other hand, I have managed to configure telegram. I put the telegram bot in different groups but I don't receive the conversation in Chatwoot. I'm going to have to look deeper how to use the telegram bot with Chatwoot 🙄

@mdreira Don't know about facebook, but we did manage to configure telegram with chatwoot just the other day.

I remember that first time we set it up things didn't work. Then we re-setup the channel in botfather and it started working. You can also check the chatwoot logs which shows some activity. There is also a telegram bot command which shows that chatwoot has "registered" as a web hook. @nebulon probably remembers the command.

Hi, I have the same issue with Facebook app setup on cloudron instance, but on direct installation and docker is working perfectly.

I don't understood why this issue in cloudron instance.

I do not have any facebook account to test this with. For telegram I also just follwed https://www.chatwoot.com/docs/product/channels/telegram/ and that worked.
