    @girish I didn't know 🙂

Three missed backups it could mean 1,5 day without any backup in case of two backup/day policy. BTW could be useful to reduce value to 1 or let user chose.

In any case, many thank's for your anwser @girish 🙂

Quick related question: is there a list of Cloudron email notifications and their triggers somewhere?

I know of the Events/Webhooks/API possibilities and I have heard of (potential/future) other email notifications, but I am not clear on what email notifications a Cloudron server generates at present times.

Also I suppose it only works so long as outbound email is properly setup on the related Cloudron server.
I suppose what I am asking is where can I find more information about Email notification related to a Cloudron Server?

I could not find any specific info about email notifications in Cloudron docs. Hopefully I have not missed something otherwise apologies in advance.

@Neiluj there is only email notification for cert renewal failures and backup failures. All other notifications are raised in the dashboard.

I would appreciate immediate email notifications for failed backups, until then there's this: https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/11375/error-log-to-telegram-or-somewhere-else/3?_=1714659269756 😉

I would also appreciate immediate notifications for any failed backups. Later, the feature could be expanded for other critical issues.

Notifications for failed backups are raised in the dashboard already, we just wait for multiple failures in a row to send out emails as on experience usually backups work the second time around. But no doubt there is room to improve on that...

@nebulon @girish I think that user choice would be best with Cloudron recommendation (3 failures in a row) being the default.

Yes, I know that failed backup notifications are already raised in the dashboard, but that requires me to go and look there. I have a mission-critical app that should update every day and I literally had the case that while I was on vacation, it failed one day. Nothing happened, it backed up the next day, but I simply didn't look into the dashboard that day like usually.

That's where the feature request is coming from.

@girish hello, any news about this point? I would like to be notified via email as soon as backup fails. Hetzner storage box mounted as backup is not persistent.

as @ekevu123 wrote, some app are mission critical

                        True that.
It is an easy fix though. I just remount it and run the backup again. Everything goes fine.

Question is: Can this be automated after x number of backup failures?

That is, if backup fails x number of times, check mounting status and if not mounted, remount and retry backup again?

                        Thanks!

@girish hello, any news about this? Yesterday didn't noticed any issues, but today I saw two missed backups with Hetzner storage box mounted as storage...

What are the errors? Did it eventually succeed? Is this sshfs or cifs? Which Cloudron version are you on?

Ah ok, this will most likely be fixed in Cloudron 8.0.3 which is already being slowly rolled out
