@LoudLemur said in Graphhopper on Cloudron: Maps and Routing:

If you do manage to get it to go, please say how you manage it. Pasting the API key in doesn't seem to result in having the GraphHopper engine as an option...

Oh, sorry, my comment was off-topic really, nothing to do with Graphhopper, just about the Nextcloud Maps app generally being a bit shit (I've never tried to do anything Graphhopper related, yet).

This excellent suggestion was made two years ago and so far has received only a handful of votes.

The OSRM works to help you find routes on OSM (OpenStreetMap). This function is already supported in NextCloud.

Cloudron supports NextCloud, which has a maps module, using OSM. The maps module needs a routing engine for it to help you find a way from A to B. OSRM would provide such an engine.

    There is a Docker:

    https://github.com/Project-OSRM/osrm-backend

If you go into NextCloud's additional settings, you can find this:

@LoudLemur it can be useful if you develop an app on mobile phones, and you want to know which features are used or not.

Lot of work goes into developing an app.
No point in having a feature if no-one uses it, alternatively it can point to need to evangelise that feature or improve its functionality or sign-posting in the app.

I am interested in adding this kind of monitoring (w/o privacy intrusion). "Metrics" have a bad name if abused (as BigTech usually does) but limited light usage monitoring does aid the development process.

That said, I haven't yet added usage reporting to my app yet. It's on the TODO list.

EDIT : PostHog seems like a "non-trivial" packaging for Cloudron, unless someone can say otherwise.
Currently I'm looking at a simple event log in a back-end DB (but not FireBase). Nowhere near the functionality of PostHog, but I don't need their full functionality.

Just answering my own question: Following some more digging we can just use vector.im or matrix.org. In fact browsing to my Element web app on mobile suggests I configure the native mobile app using vector.im.

However, when I do, I get errors suggesting something ain't right. I set the well known and even opened 8448 in my fw. Any help @girish or @nebulon can give to help a poor, tired sysadmin out? 😉 please

@LoudLemur Great, as you know many Apps here have other service ports opened, they just need to be packaged as such and include a webUI for config & health checks, etc.

Currently we don't really have apps for frameworks to deploy apps. The only exception is somewhat the LAMP app.

@thetomester13 said in xbrowsersync - Secure, anonymous & free browser syncing:

@nebulon this has been on my list for a while, but it currently only supports syncing bookmarks. Which is nice! But I'm really looking for a sync of history and ideally current tabs as well. I was also hoping to replace Firefox Sync with something selfhosted, I'm just not sure it's there yet 😕 in the meantime I sync bookmarks through the Nextcloud Bookmarks plugin + Floccus browser extension, and have Firefox Sync running.

I just love Shaarli, which was recommended here and which runs on Cloudron. @timconsidine has some other, even cooler than Shaarli ideas for this sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure most if not all of the music apps that are already on Cloudron already support the Subsonic etc standard.

I know for sure that Navidrome does because I that's what I use (and I mostly just stream music to my phone using the Ultrasonic app)

@simon said in Renovate - Automated dependency updates Multi-platform and multi-language.:

2.5 years ago, Renovate was already suggested in App Wishlist, but apparently not considered.

In which case you should've added this info to the existing App Wishlist post

@LoudLemur Thank you for the support. I've been using Cloudron for about 6 months now, and am starting to figure out (some simple) custom apps. This one seems like it would be easy to package properly, doesn't it?

I've also had some success with Leantime and Tiddlywiki, if anyone is interested.

Part of the problem with self-hosted email sending deliverability is the lack of that data on bounces, marked as spam and unsubscribe rates, so Postal might help with that, and levelling the field against the tech-giant dominance over this one specific area that they know is one of their leverage tools to diminish the internet for those that don't fall into line.
