How about a Cloudron meet-up in Berlin in 2021?
-
Joining this community and finding so much collaboration, I wonder if, when all the craziness settles, would people be interested in a meet-up?
I've always wanted to visit Berlin, and as much for a social gathering as geek-talk it could be something fun to work towards?
Not expecting some kind of big-effort conference but perhaps getting people together would be good for sharing ideas, getting to know the people behind the handles, and networking to see what else we might do with all this collective experience and enthusiasm.
Fun for 2021 anyone?

I would be very unlikely to make that, but great idea!
Would be up for something online though - perhaps to celebrate (and kick the wheels of) when BBB and/ ir Jitsi is available?!?

Cool, I like planning these kinds of things, and Germany seems like the safest country in Europe right now. Will look at ideas once we get some sight on how the winter goes.
Online could be fun too - maybe something in December - meet the founders Q&A kinda thing

@atrilahiji Yes! We did it when Kopano meet was getting packaged by @fbartels . See https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/2107/meet-kopano-unstable-version-a-few-questions-problems

Perfect! I'd join if it was online then. Would love to visit Germany someday, but being "at risk" (cystic fibrosis) I ain't travelling out of Canada during this pandemic, especially when insurance won't cover anything like that anymore haha

Given the corona situation now and what is probably to be expected into 2021, a meeting in person is indeed far away. I do think it would be fun as mentioned to have some get-together virtually. @luckow recently organized a virtual conference based on BBB which also worked quite well, so maybe he can support us here.

+1 - following. I'd definitely be interested in partaking in something like this

We would definitely have to use someone's cloudron though! Perhaps a Matrix/Element install to start, using its rooms for topics? And if some sort of working video chat solution develops, we could use that too for a few sessions. Perhaps, in addition to making it a virtual Cloudron Forum members meetup, we could have one or two speakers from the list of organizations who have really used it, such as someone from Osimun, Valkenburg, University of Colorado Denver, German Drupal EV, etc. Unless some Forum members are already among these companies, then we don't need to spend months arranging for a time slot.

@lonk well, the primary Cloudron chat used to be the one at https://chat.cloudron.io which is a Rocket.Chat install.
I think it got closed to registrations to help keep this forum the primary place for support.
I think one of the main reasons why the Matrix/ Element room exists is to showcase that you can run them on Cloudron.
