Who is selling hosted (and supported) Cloudron servers?
-
Not yet but planning something along these lines.
My feeling is things like Upwork are quite variable and time-consuming for qualifying freelancers, costing and pricing things, so thinking more along the lines of al-la-carte pricing that creates sustainable relationships between freelancers, teams, agencies & clients.
I'm looking at it from a slightly different point of view though, as retainers for expertise on a curated sub-set of the actual apps.
To me, the choice is nice but its for our experience to know each of the pros & cons and guide on the best selection for long-term support and ultimately make the apps invisible to getting on and using them with minimal support needs and invisible maintenance.

In fact, I'm intending to start a thread on what I just said soon, just had a bunch of life stuff to balance.
I'm all-in on promoting Cloudron though, too much on my mind to write now but I can see a bright future, and have some interesting possibilities to bring to the party at some point. Sorry, not intending to be a mystery post, just gotta focus on a fair bit of life stuff first.

@msbt I love your website and offer at https://bits.at/hosting
I am planning on offering a managed hosted Cloudron instance in the UK and wondered if you can share a little about your journey and whether you'd embark on it again.
I currently offer managed hosting services, primarily WordPress and M365. I use Cloudron a lot and would prefer to push OSS apps over reselling M365.
@marcusquinn how is https://brandlight.org using Cloudron?
PS Sorry to reviving an old corpse of a thread. I looked and there doesn't seem to be much by way of hosted/managed Cloudrons out there

I'd still like to actually do something with https://selfhost.cloud one day - also selling hosted Cloudrons in the UK, so we should probably chat and share ideas.
I'm pretty sure @luckow also sells hosted Cloudrons too.

@3246 Are you asking where to host for UK servers?
Hostinger has UK as an option, and Cloudron as a disk image on their VPS.
Hetzner has always been good for me, though, and you don't notice the latency for German hosted servers.
I don't know about it being a main business. Most of my software business is still web design, app development, and SEO.
You need to productise all services nowadays, there's not enough margin to give everyone personal custom services.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure @3246 is asking if anyone is selling hosted managed Cloudrons in the UK (like I was intending to do with https://selfhost.cloud )

Looks like mooCloud split/dissolved into JAMflow
https://jamflow.cloud/moocloud
What all other Cloudron providers took up their slack? -
Oh. I'm late to the party. Take a look at our new 30-day trial https://www.gesellschaft-zur-entwicklung-von-dingen.de/en/magazine/try-safeserver-assist-free-30-days
Sorry, most of the rest is in German -

At Catalyst Collective we provide some hosting services to several organisations using Cloudron but we don't advertise it at all or have the capacity to develop it as a proper business stream (I'm the only one doing it and already have too many other work streams). I'd love to see a UK offering and I'd be happy to help setting it up.

Let's list them here.
I think there are likely quite a few people out there doing this, but I'm not really aware of many.
I know of https://osinum.fr/ in France, but I'm guessing @staff know of quite a few similar opeations?
https://autonomic.zone/ were offering it too, but I'm not sure they do anymore now that Cloudron is no longer open source.
@d19dotca @yusf you provide hosted Cloudron stuff to clients too, right? (but I think you don't actively advertise his?)
And from what I can gather @marcusquinn is cooking up some ideas in this area too, right?
I'm working with @thetomester13 to set-up https://selfhost.cloud and so want to do a bit of market research about what is currently out there, how they market the offering and what their pricing is like.
Would also like to perhaps start the beginning of a little Cloudron resellers peer support community
(I guess in some ways this forum is already that, but I'm thinking perhaps regular video calls to touch base and share thoughts/ best practice etc)
Thanks!

They indeed stopped doing it when Cloudron changed the license.

@avatar1024 let's get together online with @3246 sometime after 10 Aug (I'm on an interrail adventure until then) and try to make something happen!
