ownCloud Infinite ScaleSo I see ownCloud Infinite Scale was officially released last week:
https://owncloud.com/news/infinite-scale-release/
What does this mean for possible addition to the App Store?

I'm working on this but my biggest frustration thus far has been the way they seem to touch every damn part of the filesystem and there appears to be no easy way to configure everything to work out of /app/data or /app/code.
Has anyone else taken a crack at this or would like to collab? Repo here: https://git.atrilahiji.dev/atrilahiji/cloudron-ocis-app
Calling all @appdev
Made a issue on their git: https://github.com/owncloud/ocis/issues/2021
Does anybody know if this is resolved in the beta?

Free cloud computing hosting@timconsidine great, okay thanks for that.
I ended up exploring Gandi's SOGo implementation, which comes with their email hosting, and it all seems to work well for calendars and address book now. It didn't when we first signed up.
So that's kind of solved my problem really!

Free cloud computing hosting@ianhyzy ah okay, thanks. I was using Surfer for web host (literary a static home page holder).
I assume Radicale is more RAM efficient?
-
Free cloud computing hostingI've considered hosting locally on my Mac mini but want to avoid all the potential administration that this involves any time there's a problem. We currently host our email with Gandi so I'm considering using them instead. Do you think one of these tiers is enough to host calendars, address book (via Nextcloud or Radicale) + very simple low traffic website?
-
Setting up Radicale@nebulon okay thank you.
Does Radicale support having a single shared address book across an organisation?
And does it support the delegation feature in macOS's calendar app?
-
Setting up RadicaleI've installed Radicale and want to use it for shared contacts and calendars for our organisation.
Are there any instructions out there for setting it up that don't involve the CLI?
For instance how should I initially login to set up an address book and calendars for the organisation/individuals? What user account should I use? My Cloudron user account or email or my Cloudron admin account?
-
Backup size growing@girish ah yes, that makes sense. And recent ones are being deleted, yes. Thanks again.

did you maybe share the calendar as read-only?
No they're normal calendars.
@d19dotca said:
Do you happen to see this issue if using a more supported macOS version (11.x "Big Sur" and lower?) with the built-in Calendar app?
Yes, I was having this same problem with Big Sur. Seeing the problem was still there in Monterey actually prompted me to look into it more.

@christiaan some info here - https://docs.cloudron.io/backups/#retention-policy
Thanks girish. This doesn't seem to cover the issue I am seeing though, which is that backups of old versions are not being deleted as per my retention policy.
-
Backup size growing@girish said in Backup size growing:
@jdaviescoates I am always wary about adding that feature because a compromised cloudron would then mean that backups can also be deleted. In many backup providers, you can create storage credentials with permissions so that objects cannot be deleted. Then again maybe just like auto-deletion, we can have a button to delete which may or may not work...
Why are they not simply deleted based on the retention policy? Is this for wiggle room if an upgrade goes wrong?
My retention policy is 2 days, for instance, but one of these old version backups was a month old.
-
Backup size growing@jdaviescoates said in Backup size growing:
@christiaan they would've been deleted eventually. I think maybe after 3 weeks.
Oh right. There was one there that was a month old. Is there anywhere in Cloudron documentation that explains this?
-
Backup size growing@girish Great, thanks. Would it be possible for you to automate this in Cloudron (i.e. deleting old versions)?

Nextcloud logs spinning wheel@girish perfect, thank you
-
Nextcloud logs spinning wheelWhen I try to view my Nextcloud logs under Nextcloud > Settings > Logging I just get a spinning wheel, no logs.
I was thinking to rename the nextcloud.log and create a new one, as this person did, but where is the nextcloud directory path in a Cloudron installation?

Backup size growing@jdaviescoates how do I remove them safely? Can I manually delete any of these folders without corrupting the backup?
