What @Dont-Worry said. As long as it' mountable on the server as Cloudron Volume, it should work without a problem. With NAS and network storage, one thing to keep to mind is the flakiness/stability of the network. Apps can behave erratically if the attached storage is not stable.

Outline upstream uses email ids to track users and does not use usernames (despite Cloudron OIDC setting the sub claim to username). When the email changes, it thinks that this is a new user. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix this since this is how upstream app is implemented.

With me it's actually the other way around. I've been using ntfy for Element Push but I'd like to install NextPush for Nextcloud talk notifications but can't get it to work. I'm sure it's some trivial thing that's missing but I can't find any proper documentation on setting it up. Would you mind sharing the steps you took?

I have installed the App on the NC-Level and on my mobile device. Logged in on my device, it shows up in the backend of the NC-Level App but won't display notifications.

Having Signal push support would be awesome (instead of the dreaded Telegram garbage)

@lukas you can attach an external disk which has encryption and move the Cloudron App Data (https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#data-directory) to that volume.

It's not possible to enable encryption at the per app level when the underlying disk is not encrypted. I think this requires creating loopback mounts (which should not be used for production) and setting up encryption. All this goes against best practices.

@LoudLemur speaking generally (and not in the context of selfhosting), the best way apps can and should interact with each other is via API.

For example, if you drop a file somewhere in nextcloud data directory, it won't pick it up (and for good reason). Unless the app is built around the concept of picking up files from filesystem, this system (around volumes) doesn't work. This is why while we have made it possible to share files via volumes in apps, we haven't invested much energy on this. Most apps have their filesystem layout (say lychee, jellyfin, castopod) and even though they store files in filesystem, it's really like a database (i.e opaque) and it's best not to move things around.

So, after E-Mail change, reinstall the app and import backup

yes, I totally forgot, that Cloudron runs not at Home, so I need to adjust my backup time window
