Something like Crowdsec is surely a step in the right direction. Unfortunately I do not know enough about security to write the guide on configuring these solutions. However - I know enough to know that it is desperately needed. Especially for SMB and Enterprise applications. In general - Wouldn't it be nice to have a control center where you can know who is accessing your server, what they are doing, and if anything suspicious is going on?

@roofboard that makes sense. I would personally not throw in a ssh key into a CI/build system either I guess you are looking for a cloudron sync or something from the CLI tool. I guess this is possible to implement. Can you open a feature request at https://forum.cloudron.io/category/97/feature-requests ?

@subven wordwrap!!! the problem was staring me in the face! But I could not see it because i did not scroll to the right... Thanks for the help!!!! I took a cert and key file from another server, and renamed the default cert to be whatever the error wanted. first thedomain.com.cert, then thedomain.com.key. and so-forth until it loaded. It is working now! .

+1 . I think this will indeed make things a lot more secure than we have now. It is complicated to have this work across apps, but we should do it for all the apps that support it .

@roofboard Hmmm I am looking at Rclone It appears to be the backend that many file sync apps like google drive use to "do the magic" This may be a part of the better solution for folder synchronization...

@roofboard well basically. You need the cloudron cli as documented here and a git clone of the repo i linked before. Then in the clone you run cloudron build followed by cloudron update. Along these commands you need to specify the name of your docker image (which requires a docker registry, which could be the docker hub, on Cloudron itself or somewhere else). You can update an existing installation with a custom fork, and with the right parameters also bring it back to the official app.

I'd like an answer to this question.. as I just ran into the missing cert problem too. Having deleted all the conf/cert files, and gotten nginx started, the UI is still not accessible after box restart. All apps are inaccessible too. box restart seems to recreate the /etc/nginx/applications/my.domain.conf BUT doesn't check if the /home/yellowtent/platformdata/nginx/certs/my.domain.host.cert is there. How are they regenerated from the CLI?
