@girish thanks. i plan to do more talks about cloudron, mainly tutorials. my next tutorial i think is gonna be how to use cloudron as sso for cloudflare access authentication. have'nt decided indefinitely yet. its either gonna be that, or i might start simple in user configuration and stuf like that.

@necrevistonnezr Nice, I didn't even notice that. I'm gonna correct my post in case someone sees it in search and doesn't bother to read the thread, if that's okay. Thanks .

Thanks for the input y'all. I did some further testing and found out something strange. When I change the CPU resources for each app, and it doesn't matter if I increase or decrease the resources and then checking the disk speed again it went up. Also wenn I stress test my website (did that with the siege command line tool) the disk speeds went up. Seems like Contabo does allocate resources when there is stress on the system and decrease resources when it's idling? So I could reach speeds of around 300 MB/s to 1 GB/s on SDA3. Same with SDA2. I think I'll ignore the numbers for now as I don't feel there are real world problems on the VPS. And I guess if I really need to upscale performance for whatever reason I might switch to Hetzner or something else.

To answer the original question: I think root user is the first/admin user that you signed up with Wasabi. If you create users after that, they are called sub-users. Depending on your setup, you have to create a key for the root user or sub user. I guess you can just create the key for root user if you are not using sub-users. See https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/creating-a-user-account-and-access-key

@crazybrad thanks, but I think I'm going to take a leaf out of @luckow's book and try self-hosting FreePBX on a cheap dedicated VPS and see how I get on

@girish yep will give it a try. What about the networking graphs, or even the stacked ones? Is that a realistic feature to ask for?

@crazybrad said in Advice on Cloudron Mail Server Config and Sizing: @BrutalBirdie Great point. In fact I am wondering whether outgoing SMTP can be disabled and a transactional email service such as Postmark be configured for outgoing emails. This way the IP address does not get a bad reputation (or any reputation). Is this possible with Cloudron mail? yes

@girish Nessus is a very old security scanner: https://nessus.org/ No ideas, to be honest... that's why I thought to raise it to you.

From the docs https://docs.cloudron.io/packaging/tutorial/ : The build service app is installed on a separate Cloudron (not production Cloudron) and acts as a proxy for building docker images and also pushes them to your registry. In other words: no difference.

@saikarthik FWIW, I've used and really like the Wordpress plugin, Pressbooks, for such a task. It's handy to have the breakdown of the book handy, it has version control, you can control User access, and by installing some of the backend stuff, you can output a finished book straight to PDF or ebook. https://www.wpexplorer.com/create-books-wordpress/ is a site talking about it, but the link above goes to the .org version. WP also has to be setup for multi-site, too. Not a huge pain, but a step you can't skip.

I currently use both a self-hosted on Cloudron instance of Ghost and also Open Collective. But I'd be great if this Tendenci app was on Cloudron: https://forum.cloudron.io/post/22695 See also Galette: https://forum.cloudron.io/post/1230

As far as I understand its related to the env variable GLIBC_TUNABLES which I don't think its used on Cloudron anywhere, but also had never heard of it before. I checked a few Cloudrons and its not present at least.
