@BrutalBirdie said in Backup uploading stalls:

I have the same problem very often with Hetzner Storage boxes. No matter if CIFS or SSHFS.

I'm another Hetzner Storage Box user. I very occasionally have this problem too. I use CIFS. Anecdotally in most case it has been instances of PeerTube that it seems to get stuck on. I've no idea why. But running a backup of the app by itself has, I think, sometimes made the next backup work again.

Have you got PeerTube installed @nichu42? If so, perhaps try that? (or if not, try running a singular app backup on whatever app it is stalling on)

@shifty this is intentional. The disk space results are collected in a cron job. What the UI is saying is that during the time it collected the disk space results, those apps were installed. By now , you have uninstalled them and thus Cloudron does not have any more info about those apps other than it used to be there but not anymore (maybe we can keep track of some basic info like domain name or something but the issue was the domain name can be re-used and might cause confusion).

There is a refresh button on the top. If you click it, the disk space will be re-collected immediately. It will make those apps go away.

@visuex are you the same as @cpa ? What is the context of this comment? The original thread was about certs not renewing but in your comment you said it's renewing just fine. Can you open a new thread please if you have some problem?

The url seems to point to sendgrid: https://www.nslookup.io/domains/url3147.twrl.app/dns-records/

Are you using sendgrid? if so then it seems they are doing some link tracking rewrites in the outgoing mails and their rewrites point to a not properly configured system of theirs.

Yeah I've click enable a few times, and when the page refreshs it goes back to disabled. I checked the memory usage screen again this morning mail was using 99% of its 16GB, so I pushed it up to 20Gb. Seems a lot, for 10 mailboxes.
    I'll send an email.

@lukas you can attach an external disk which has encryption and move the Cloudron App Data (https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#data-directory) to that volume.

It's not possible to enable encryption at the per app level when the underlying disk is not encrypted. I think this requires creating loopback mounts (which should not be used for production) and setting up encryption. All this goes against best practices.

@dsp76 that line is outdated, I will fix it. Cloudron apps do see the remote IP. In the past, they were hidden. But we got enough complaints that event logs inside apps were not useful anymore with internal private IPs. So, we have fixed up apps to have access to the Client/remote IP.

@ethanxrosen if you have backups, this will be in the box_<version> filename portion. Otherwise, if you have access to the server, it is at /home/yellowtent/box/VERSION

@girish I don't think it requires seal encryption.

I believe using seal encryption causes a different code path to be taken that avoids the underlying bug but it is not the presence or absence of seal encryption in and of itself that I believe fixes the issue.

After a kernel upgrade this works fine without seal encryption though I have now enabled it as it seems like a good idea to have anyway so making it the default is probably a good idea but as long as Ubuntu 22.04's default kernel version is 5.15.0-102 this issue will likely still occur.

@AartJansen '+' is the default qualifier. So, it is redundant in +a:my.friendwholesale.co.nz . You can remove it.

When I log in, the Empty Space has enlarged and back to the 16 Nov level. Weird though. Will keep an eye on it and report it if it rises again.

1 updates could not be installed automatically. For more details,
    see /var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades.log

Most likely the above is not the problem. The above is from ubuntu updates. If you check /var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades.log, it will tell you why the update was not automatically applied.

I tried to restore from an older backup but for some reason is not fixing the problem. Thank you for your help

We need more information to help. Do you mean DO backup or Cloudron backup ? What is not working ?

If you have your old droplet, start it up again and run cloudron-support --troubleshoot . That will give an idea of what is going on.

@dreamingofadmin I think first step is to get access to your dashboard.

In Cloudflare, do you have an entry for my.domain.com to your server IP (DNS A record) ? If not, add this manually. Wait a bit. Access https://my.domain.com . If it's asking to accept self signed certs, accept them. Once in dashboard, Domains -> Sync DNS . This will add all the DNS entries. Then, Domains -> Renew all certs.

Please let us know what is failing and where.

@girish I saw that thread, its a different problem. One I was also having on another customers site.
That site the backup goes to a windows workstation share.
After the last prompt "server requires a reboot" triggered it. However because of the other threads existence I fixed it by clicking the SEAL encryption box.
FYI That site is on 7.7.2

@girish well, not sure why it didn't work before when I rotated my keys, but backups are back up. 🤷

@freetommy most likely the container needs to be re-pulled. If you go to Repair view, does it let you enable Recovery Mode? If so, enable recovery mode and afterwards disable it (this is a hack to repull the docker image).

@girish The terminal command comes back correctly. I don't have time right now to upload a file. But I did upload a test index.html file the other day and it worked fine. I added my app locations to the child nameservers page and I'm not getting the TXT file download anymore. I'm only seeing the characters included in the app browser address if I am in the settings section of the apps. I am still getting issues loading pages if I just type in my regular domain and I get the untrusted certificate warning.

@zajjy said in Custom PHP Laravel Script:

In addition to the OS tools, can you use cloudron to install:

What do you mean by OS tools 🙂 ? Cloudron installs web apps (https://www.cloudron.io/appstore.html) . Note that Cloudron is not a server management platform. It is a platform to help in selfhosting which involves installing and managing web apps. For example, Cloudron cannot install a cups printer or an irc daemon on the server.

1- My Custom PHP Laravel Script apps? like in cpanel?

Sure, you would use the LAMP app for this - https://www.cloudron.io/store/lamp.cloudronapp.php74.html

    2- Wordpress websites?

Yup. There are two variants of WP even. Managed and Developer .
