@imc67 said in Updating FreeScout failed: @girish said in Updating FreeScout failed: @imc67 there is a bug here . Can you apply this one liner and then set the memory limit https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/box/-/commit/750f313c6a36d8d961892df4a41cb7c41faa1f1b ? You have systemctl restart box after you change that line in /home/yellowtent/box/src/apps.js. Will try this in a few hours @girish this solved the bug, thanks!

I will mark this as solved for now but also ack that there is possibly some bug either on minio side or Cloudron side.

@d19dotca said in What is your backup config and why?: @p44 - Do you find the 2 PM (presumably that's a "peak" time for your server traffic) impacts performance at all? This is a very good question. Performances could be affected but our customers in that time they are in lunch time, so we prefer to keep an updated copy of backup after "morning work". Backup all data it takes around 30minutes.

@jdaviescoates you should probably use the cifs provider, since then at least the error message would be more obvious when not mounted

@d19dotca To add to this, this is why minio has path style to true. Because it will be a pain for selfhosters to create a subdomain (dns and certs) for every bucket they create. Edit: just looked this up now. In minio, one can set MINIO_DOMAIN to enable vhost style per https://docs.min.io/docs/minio-server-configuration-guide.html . I have to test if this works with Cloudron's domain alias feature.

@Jan-Macenka yeah, there's some bug in the fs module we use . We are replacing it next release, so maybe this bug goes away.

@d19dotca said in Backuptask crashed when uploading to OVH Object Storage: @nebulon Ah okay, I think I understand. Does that mean then that we don't really need enough memory for 3x<part size>, so much as 3x(<upload_part_size>x<upload_concurrency>) for rsync setups, right, or did I totally misunderstand? If a file is big (i.e > than the upload part size), we still need 3x<part size> for rsync. So, let's say you have a 5GB file, then we still need 3GB RAM (since upload part size in your screenshot is 1GB). Plus in addition, we need to memory for uploading 200 files in parallel as well. And if those 200 files contain more 5GB files, then you need add it all up. It gets complicated very quickly!

@girish Thanks! This ended up being a combination of issues I believe. So throttling on the backups due to using rsync, encryption, and file names ended up being too long (only a few) So I've changed some settings around and it seems to have been resolved. I appreciate the help from both @robi and yourself.

@JOduMonT Hetzner storage box can already be mounted as Samba/CIFS on Cloudron . See also https://docs.cloudron.io/backups/#cifs https://www.infomaniak.com/en/swiss-backup supports S3, so you can add it as S3 compatible.

For restic, can you upvote here - https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1575/backup-improvements-restic-backend ? It should be possible to add a new restic backend like tgz/rsync. Though, we still have to figure out how we can "support" it. But that's a separate topic.
