    @stoccafisso I have put this in our 4.1 roadmap - https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1789/what-s-coming-in-4-1 . The feature is already supported in our backend (dataDir field when calling the configure route) but the UI is hidden. We will work on making it public.

    That's good news. I suspected nothing was compromised with Cloudron but it's good to have it stated.

    Just a heads up. The next release will include initial tag support for apps and thus filtering based on tags in the dashboard as well as allowing to specify a display name for each app, instead of the current subdomain/domain.

    @ebelinski said in What does it take to run and manage Cloudron in the longterm?: Hi everyone, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to devops. I am evaluating Cloudron right now, which I installed as a DigitalOcean droplet. I then installed Nextcloud and Collabora using the instructions. So far, everything has been amazingly smooth. I didn't even have to SSH into my droplet and I haven't run into any difficult setup issues. But I know that all VPSes at some point require maintenance. There will always be updates to apply and issues to fix. So my question is, if I keep using Cloudron for the months and years to come, what am I getting myself into? Is this whole system more or less a turnkey solution that updates itself and won't exhibit any problems, or will real devops skills be required? If I had off the management of a Cloudron VPS to someone else without devops experience, will they have difficulties? Thank you. Cloudron is incredibly stable. I have minimal devops skills and I've been running it for 1.5 years. Most issues I had was because of my choice of a dirty cheap VPS and the support is really good. If you keep external backups, even reinstalling/moving server is straightforward by following instructions. The most difficult part is the install, so once it's running, as long as you're not out of resources, you can definitely explain how to use/install apps to someone without devops skills.

    Hi @Benoit we have just given it a quick round of testing and it appears to work with using the S3 compatible backup storage provider. The bucket information for scaleway can be found at https://www.scaleway.com/docs/object-storage-feature/ So for example using paris region, just give https://s3.fr-par.scw.cloud as the endpoint in the Cloudron backup settings.

    I will close this, since the appstatus page already has it and we won't currently implement new sorting or filter features for the appstore view.

    @KathleenMcArthur Cloudron is a software solution that makes it easy to install and manage apps on your server. The server itself can be from any VPS provider like DigitalOcean, EC2, Linode, your data center or even your home. You can try our demo to get a feel of what Cloudron provides - https://my-demo.cloudron.me (username: cloudron password: cloudron). What this means is that you have to initially setup a server and install Cloudron on it. After that the management hassle should be very low. Please note that we are also now listed in the DO market place - https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/cloudron. So it's a single click now to install Cloudron. Updates for apps and platform is totally automatic, so you don't have to really manage anything. Finally, we do have managed hosting as well where we provision the servers and setup custom rules based on your requirements. This is currently not actively advertised and we only provide this for enterprise customers (+yearly billing). If you are interested in this, please reach out to us at support@cloudron.io

    I didn't thought of any specific LDAP server. It would be great to connect Cloudron to any external LDAP server, that would manage groups and users. For example, connect a Cloudron server to another one so that only one Cloudron server manages the users and groups for both servers.

    @nebulon said in Mail domain alias for subdomain: I guess what you are looking for is a way to match the app internal username (resulting in this email) with some other inbox? yes, exactly (as long as you refer to the user in nextcloud by internal username). Sending would not be required, only receiving (which should minimise the setup effort, since only a mx record is needed).

    Much thanks to @girish for helping me figure out what was wrong. Sendy (sendy.co) is working well in the LAMP app. Yay! It was simply an issue of changing the $dbHost = 'localhost'; to $dbHost = 'mysql';

    @fer-raspo Are you using a mail relay by any chance? There is an issue that email forwarding is not working as expected when using a mail relay - https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/box/issues/593. We are working on a fix. Otherwise, are you able to join our chat at https://chat.cloudron.io and ping me there? (@girish).
