In part just so everything in one place and so I just have to manage, maintain, update etc one server instead of several servers. But also because e.g. I've got an instance of PeerTube on one of the smaller VPSs (it's bridport.tv so makes sense to have it on my.bridport.coop where I've got all the Bridport stuff), but I've realised that it really needs a lot more power than that server has. I'd also like to give access to some of the apps of got on my.uniteddiversity.coop to all the people on my.bridport.coop - at present this would mean them creating another account and then not having the same credentials for both (although to be fair most of the apps currently on my.bridport.coop aren't LDAP enabled anyway, either because they don't have it - like Discourse - or because it doesn't really suit the use case - public instances of PeerTube, Mastodon, Pixelfed). I think quite a few of the apps would likely benefit for the increased power the dedicated server would have. The issues you've highlighted wouldn't be that big an issue for me because I think I'm currently the only person/ name who is on all of them so there aren't two Jane Does (but there would be if I started saying "sign-up over on my.uniteddiversity.coop so I can give you access to our shared x too". The biggest issue would be getting the handful of people actively using some of the other Cloudrons over onto the One Big Cloudron, but currently the numbers of people I'm talking about would be manageable (but this gets harder as more people start joining the other secondary Cloudrons).

While there are no mastodon specific notes on importing, there is one guide at https://docs.cloudron.io/guides/import-postgresql/ for importing postgres apps (which mastodon uses). For exporting, one can make a backup of the app and will have the db dump part of the backup together with all other data.

@cjblank This is how i fixed that exact issue: Run these commands sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=0 sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6=0 sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6=0 double check IPv6 is off by running "ip a" This is tempoary work around just to install it and get it up and running. to restart your installation without rebuilding a new VM Add this flag --redo

Oh right, this is the whole box backup listing, not the apps backup listing. Looking at the code, that Cloudron level section needs the same fix Will do a fix now and if you want enable remote SSH support for us and send a mail with your dashboard domain to support@cloudron.io then I can locally fixup your instance

@scooke you are right, then the issue is something else if only one app is not backing up. Can you update to 7.3.5 and see if you can reproduce the issue? The fix I was talking about is in 7.3.5.

Btw, I applied the changes of the system.js according to the changelog to solve this problem in my environment until the update is available. So at least for myself this Post could be set to "solved".

Update: I installed Ubuntu 20.04 and then upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04. The Cloudron install then worked!

So is this then fixed by now with getting unbound back alive?

@mpeterson0418 On Cloudron, each app is run in a container and has it's own virtual file system. This way one app cannot see another and they can't tamper with each other. This has a wide range of security benefits. This is the reason File manager is inside the app setting.
