@girish The screenshot was within mailtrain. I have the email partially working now: it can receive email and I can read it on thunderbird, but I haven't been able to successfully send one yet. Some of the logs say something about the domain being too new. I'll try the wordpress built-in email for now and see how far I get

@girish damn! I almost feel stupid, I just listen to the Gatsby dude which was saying you have nothing to set in your wordpress thank for your research and your time

@imc67 thanks, it wasn't a production app and so I just completely deleted the whole thing. At present I don't have any app installed there so that might explain certificate thing

@girish I should've added that site health was still reported as good even with this REST API issue. But yes, now that issue has gone away too [image: 1590833175610-great_job.png] BTW, to get perfect good health it also recommended I uninstall Twenty Seventeen and Twenty Nineteen themes too, and to just keep the themes I was using, it's parent, and Twenty Twenty. So perhaps only ship the package with Twenty Twenty? (Also, an aside really, but perhaps don't ship with Hello Dolly plugin too? Uninstalling it is always one of the first things I do! I can't imagine anyone actually really wanting it)

OK, I pushed an unmanaged WP update that updates the plugins but this won't affect existing installs though. You have to update the plugins yourself.

Just to say, I just tried installing WordPress Importer again on a new install and this time it worked fine, so whatever the problem was seems to have been resolved. @girish I think this can be marked as solved (it's too old for me to edit, turn into a question and mark solved myself).

@girish So, it was the TLS. Changed it to 1.2 and the requests went smooth and fast. Thanks for the tips

@girish Thanks for confirming! Glad to know I wasn't totally crazy or messed something up. hahaha. I was worried I was in a bit of an unsupported state. As long as it's expected behaviour that's okay, I'll find a way to approach it down the road.

@robi ElasticPress is the plugin, that has a setting for pointing at the packaged ElasticSearch Cloudron App.

Probably better to use a subdirectory under /tmp and not /tmp itself.

There is now a sticky post under this category to follow updates.

There's a bunch of plugins like WP Crontrol, Advanced cron, Simple cron. You can use them to setup a custom pattern and call a custom function. Your PHP function can just shell exec your script (or maybe you can even write PHP depending on your use case).

The backups also contain the sql dump and all the data files nicely structured, if required.

@girish Ah, of course it’d be writable, my mistake. I am away from my computer but I know that in the past I had a plugin installed specifically to keep themes and other plugins up-to-date. And they worked before I migrated all my sites to Cloudron. So I just made an assumption that it had to do with some limitation within WordPress. I uninstalled it a while back since it wasn’t working and just sort of got around to thinking about it again. I will try again and see if it works and if not then I’ll report back with specifics of what plugin I was using to keep everything else updated so we can try to reproduce it. Thanks for the help!
