Also, please check if your router supports hairpinning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation#NAT_loopback . This is what loops back a request to a public IP back into your private network.

@girish Oh, never mind, it was an SMTP OUT block by the VPS provider... I didn't think that it would apply to running email from another server through OpenVPN on this one... Sorry for taking your time with this, and thanks again.

@adhithiyan I thought I fixed this in 7.2.2 . collectd has an option to disable FQDNLookup. Can you tell me which version of Cloudron you installed ? If you don't remember, you can check the file /home/yellowtent/box/VERSION. It's also in the Settings page of the dashboard (this appears only after you have setup cloudron).

Hi @AniTexs ! Sorry for the interruption, we had an issue on our backend side handling the subscription setup. If you reload your Cloudron dashboard you should see the subscription being valid now.

@hustler PTR in your case is about setting a reverse DNS (rDNS) record. Take a look at the Linode tutorial: https://www.linode.com/docs/guides/configure-your-linode-for-reverse-dns/

@girish I'm not. I'm self hosting. It's running on a Ubuntu 20.04 Server install on a Synology 1517+ with Intel Processor. It's got 4 Cores and 6GB of memory for now.

Good point. I checked the services and some of them are yellow (without error, but stalled in loading). I've restarted one app that uses mongodb and now the backup works. But it's very close to the memory limit. If this happens again, I'll increase the memory assigned. Thanks for pointing it out.

@girish I checked, and there is nothing set there, so it's what the ISP is providing.

Backup/Restore process is actually better than a disk clone as it allows for one to remove the older cruft, upgrade the OS, switch hardware, etc.. yet all the Apps and Cloudron instance settings work as originally backed up. Very handy and a seriously difficult thing to do, hence the many disk imaging and other schemes to try and replicate a nicely configured system, which quickly become out of date, being so static. Cloudron FTW!
